Now, Where Are The Baldis?
[Credit] |
Following the overwhelming responses I received from my previous post, Here Come The Baldis!, I feel obliged to write a corresponding post. Especially after Puan Mama had read it and urged me to write another post. Sweat.
This time around, I'm addressing it to fellow comrades, the men out there. Yes, you guys with the janggut, misai and bulu kaki kerinting. Ahah.
From the comments left by readers which I can safely assume are mostly women (duh!), it is hard to chew that we, men, are being irresponsible and such a lazy ass, that the women are left with no choice but to be like men in order to survive.
Well, that's kinda a generalisation and wild accusation, no..? I bet there are a lot of men out there who are a Prince Charming in a shining armour, waiting for the right moment to save his princess, locked in a dungeon guarded by dragons. Chuckle. But yeah, trust me, I've known a lot of guys who are a genuine gentleman and really know how to take care of their women.
But I do concur, that there are men who are such a bum, who treat women and their wives like servants. They come back from work, throw their socks and briefcase everywhere, lounge happily at the sofa and switch on the tv, while waiting for their wives to serve them coffee and probably massage their smelly feet. Typical.
Let's not talk about men who beat their wives, or couldn't even bother to help raising the kids, or would find every other opportunity to flirt with other women or letting the wives to be the bread winner of the family while they just staying at home doing nothing but picking up their nose. Eh. Because that will really really piss me off.
Let
me assure you that Inche gabbana ain't such a person. He is
well-mannered, gentleman and been properly taught by Inche Papa and Puan Mama to
respect women accordingly.
Did I just hear coughing there..?
Now now. Listen, my respected brothers, fathers and pakciks. Whenever you disrespect a woman, any woman, for no particular reason or strong justification, you have as well disrespected your own mother and sisters. How would you feel, seeing your own mother or sisters being abused by other men..? It boils your blood, making you feel like punching that guy right on his face, right?

On top of of that, as a Muslim, you will never do such a disgraceful thing to a woman. Any woman. Islam never teaches us to treat women like a sub-standard species or to abuse them whenever we feel like doing so. They are human. So treat them as a human.
Prophet Muhammad SAW, besides being a Messenger of Allah, a leader, a war commander, a judge, a businessman, a friend, a father and grandfather, he is also a doting and romantic husband. I'm not kidding. How many guys out there that you know who actually race with his wife? Or help his wife preparing meal for the family? Or feed his wife with his own hand? Rasulullah SAW did all that. Kau ada...??
And there are so many authentic hadiths that confirms the high status of women in Islam.
"Abu Huraira r.a. reported Rasulullah SAW as saying: 'He who
believes in Allah and the Hereafter, if he witnesses any matter he should talk
in good terms about it or keep quiet.
Act kindly towards woman, for woman is created from a rib, and the most
crooked part of the rib is its top. If
you attempt to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it, its
crookedness will remain there. So act
kindly towards women.'"
[Narrated by Muslim]
"Abu Huraira r.a. reported Rasulullah SAW as saying: 'A believing man should not hate a believing woman; it he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another.'"
"Abu Huraira r.a. reported Rasulullah SAW as saying: 'A believing man should not hate a believing woman; it he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another.'"
[Narrated by Muslim]
And of course, this very special hadith, to men who proudly call themselves a husband:
"The
best among you is the one who is the best towards his wife."
[Narrated by Muslim]
There, there. Shall I say more?
We no longer live in a world where men are the supreme being that overrule every single thing. Where women are the servants who are expected to know how to cook every single dish, to raise the kids, to clean the house, to dry the clothes and to climb coconut tree. Eh. Lend a hand in the kitchen, in raising your own children, in washing your own underwear *koff* and other stuff. Trust me, women will much appreciate that.
There's this saying, "If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate the whole nation." This jives with a hadith:
"A woman acts for the people."
[Narrated by at-Tirmidzi]
That is how powerful and useful women can be. They are a great asset to the ummah. Leverage on their strengths and make full use of their wisdom, and the ummah shall go far.
I've
said it and I'm gonna say it again. Men and women are created
differently so that they can complement each other. Make full use of
each other's strength to create harmony in this world. Ewah.
Bear in mind, both men and women have their own weaknesses too. Men are generally associated with ego, whereas women are more emotional. This is real. So make sure that we know how to put things in their right place, to avoid any unwanted clash and provocation. Men are from Mars and women are from Venus after all, no..?
Let me end this writing with a verse from the Quran:

[an-Nisaa, 4:34]
So my brothers, do treat women with kindness, as much as how you would like to be treated. Because that's your responsibility. That's an amanah that you have to withhold, by hook or by crook.
And think. You don't want any man to disrespect your own mother, sisters, wife and daughters, do you..?
Please, don't be such a disgrace to the whole species of male. You've been warned.

Be a man. Be a real man.

Most of the guys who treat the ladies right are the brothers who are in D&T. Serious. The pakciks treat the sisters as if they are our fathers, while the brothers treat the sisters as if they are our older brothers, even though most of the sisters are older in age compared to the brothers.
memoir and reflections : D& T tu apa? :/
dakwah & tarbiyah, i guess...
d&t = dakwah & tarbiyah. Correct.
"be a man, a real man!"
Be a man. Be a real man.
Jangan sampai ada jiwa yang terkorban dek kerana tanggungjawab yang tak terlaksana. Hinggakan aku sudah trauma dengan insan yang bernama lelaki. Sumpah!
